Sharing Classical Works on Apple Music

Remember how Apple Classical was supposed to make streaming and sharing Classical Music seamless? Epic fail. So back in the world of regular Apple Music, what happens if you want to share a link to a single work on an album with multiple works? You could make and share a playlist, but then you'd end up with far too many playlists.

So here is the best solution I've found so far... It uses the web interface, so it should work the same way on every platform.

Here, we have an album with two symphonies. Let's say I want to link to Symphony no. 1, the second work on the album.

1. Copy a link to the first track of the work.

Click on the "..." next to the first track of the work you want to share and select "Copy Link"

You can't quite share this link. If you do, you'll end up sharing a single page with just that one track on it:

2. Fix the URL

While on the album page, in your browser's address bar, add the following characters to the end of the URL: ?i=

Then, paste the link you copied in step 1 after the equal sign. From what you pasted, remove everything up to (and including) the last slash ("/"), so the result looks like this:

https://music.apple.com/us/album/beethoven-sinfonien-nos-1-5/695968610?i=695969992

3. Try it and share!

If you press Enter to navigate to the address you just constructed, you'll see a big red highlight on the chosen track, indicating where you want your reader to start listening.

That's the link you can share. It's not ideal... but it's the best solution I've found. Let me know if you have a better one.
